We have shared the meaning of the EU referendum with the children during our whole-school Values assemblies but in order to help our children better understand the choices that their parents were having to make, we organised a 'Referendum Day' on June 22nd.
Teachers led presentations and discussions with their classes to unpick some of the issues involved and everyone engaged with a range of activities.
The day culminated with a vote, where each children placed a counter (a different colour for each year group) in to either the IN or OUT box. Staff also took part. The results can be seen in the photos.
Feedback from children definitely showed us that they were better informed to make their choice and were now able to discuss this significant vote with their parents.
