Children's Safeguarding Curriculum

Safeguarding through the Curriculum
We have developed a broad and balanced curriculum that is underpinned by the principles of safeguarding and the promotion of Fundamental British Values. It is a curriculum which provides explicit opportunities for the teaching and learning of safeguarding as outlined in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (KCSIE, 2022).

‘Governing bodies and proprietors should ensure children are taught about safeguarding, including online, through teaching and learning opportunities, as part of providing a broad and balanced curriculum. This may include covering relevant issues through personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE), tutorials (in FE colleges) and/or, for maintained schools and colleges, through sex and relationship education (SRE).’

We plan opportunities for children to learn about safeguarding and give children the chance to experience life in all its diversity, to acquire knowledge, understanding and skills that significantly impact on personal development, behaviour and welfare and equip every child with the knowledge and skills required for personal safeguarding.
