E-Safety
Online Safety Programme
At Foxhills Junior School, we follow the Rising Stars programme Switched on Online Safety. This is a whole school comprehensive online safety education programme for teachers, pupils and parents.
The teaching content across Switched on Online Safety is split into six key online safety strands:
• developing online safety guidelines
• social and emotional well-being and developing resilience
• responsible internet use
• keeping information safe
• digital citizenship
• playing games and having fun

Each strand is covered once in each year group. This equates to one online safety activity per half term and where possible, units are linked with particular online safety initiatives that are run throughout the year. Challenges and content are progressive: that is, they each year group builds upon the previous.

We inform parents about the unit being covered in each year group's Project letter, sent out regularly to parents.
Termly assemblies focus on online safety themes/issues, and these may coincide with national initiatives i.e. Safer Internet Day. Many are delivered by our team of Digital Leaders.
