Author visits school! (STEWART ROSS)

On Friday 20th January 2017 the children of Foxhills Junior school had a visit from the widely-published children's author, Stewart Ross.

He opened the day with a whole-school assembly and then set the challenge for children to write about what the world would be like in 100 years time, 2017.

Each class focused upon a different aspect of the future, such as transport, travel, schools, politics etc and then planned and wrote a piece about it.

In our end-of-day Celebration Assembly, Stewart presented one child from each group with a specially signed book. The winners were selected by the children, after hearing an extract from three different pieces of writing.

Mrs Callister will be drawing together some of the best pieces and compiling them into a book that will be kept in our school library.

A big thank you to her for organising this special and exciting event.
