Mr Shore phoned this morning to let us know that the children and staff had arrived safely at the Folkstone Eurotunnel terminal. Everything was fine and the children sounded very excited. We will update this page with photo's during the week.
Hello everyone - well, what a day! (Long!)
Fabulous weather - empty roads - happy (and well behaved) children. What more could the teachers ask for?! (Well, maybe an unbroken sleep tonight and a long lie in? .... like that is going to happen!).
For many, it was the first time they had travelled 'under' the sea and so it was an exciting experience going into the train.
The visit to Nausicaa Sealife Centre was awe-inspiring! (See pics below).
Lunch was in the sun (and gave the children the opportunity to revert back to being 6 again!).
We arrived at the Chateau about an hour and a half later, unpacked and did all the safety checks (fire-drills). Bags are unpacked and beds made (yes.. really!)
The children are out playing on the field as I write but we are all looking forward to our dinner at 7.30pm. We're just hoping it's not the snails and frogs legs tonight....
.... and it wasn't! (Though, for children who had never tried to eat camembert cheese, it may well have been).
Chicken dauphinoise and potatoes, followed by french apple tart for dessert.
Games on the field and then an early night. Will they sleep? Will we sleep? More tomorrow,
Mr Shore, Miss Sired, Mrs McAllister, Mrs Scevity, Mrs Bailey and Mrs Pugh
