New Path Celebration

Together with the infants and pre-school, we wanted to throw a party to celebrate the opening of our new path. This path has been years in the making and now that it has been completed, we hope the journey to school feels a lot more enjoyable and safer.

During the morning, the children were able to have a go on a Bike Blender to make smoothies, meet Basil the bird and receive lots and lots of stickers!

At 8:15am, Councillor David Harrison, Councillor Keith Manns, Councillor Derek tipp and Councillor Caroline Hubbard officially opened the new path to a chorus of cheers.

Our thanks go out to the Councillors who kindly gave up their time to support our morning, PCSO Richard Williams (who announced there will be a greater police presence during drop off and pick up times) and Katie Green from Living Streets who helped organise the event and ran our Parkwise assembly. We would also like to thank Bike It Ray and Jenny (Sustrans) who also supported us with the planning and running of our event.

We are so proud of the children who already walk, scoot, cycle or park and stride to school and we hope the new crossing will encourage more families to do so.

Excitingly, we have also been given the go ahead from the council to employ a school crossing patrol officer! If you are interested in helping us keep our children safer, please pop in and let us know!
