SOLAR ECLIPSE 20.03.15

Today we experienced the long awaited Solar Eclipse.

Children were first dazzled by a presentation from Inas and Thea (Y6), members of Mrs Thomson's Science Club.

Following this, children were given the choice to stay in the school Hall and watch the eclipse live via the internet or go outside and experience the darkening effect of the Moon passing in front of the Sun.

It was a cold morning but the children who chose the outside were pleased that they saw how dim the light became. Those who stayed indoors similarly saw the darkening of the room and saw images on the big screen.

It may only have been an 86% eclipse, but it was a full experience and lasting memory for the children.
