Year 6 Bikeability
This week is Year 6 Bikeability! Bikeability is the national cycle training programme supported and funded by the Department for Transport. The course builds the skills and confidence of children who can already ride. Bikeability can not only make children better cyclists - potentially for the rest of their lives - but can help with general confidence . independent thinking and their transition to secondary school.
The first session today included learning the correct checks to make sure your bike is safe before you ride, how to signal properly and how to make an emergency stop!
Bikeability will continue each day this week, with our children practicing on local roads around the school (with the supervision of trained adults) in order to teach them how to ride safe yet confidently for years to come!
