YEAR 6 FRENCH TRIP

Monday 24th June 2019

A fresh and early start. Children were all checked in, cases loaded, travel sickness tablets consumed. 

The two coaches left on time.... and arrived safely at Folkstone, boarding the ferry (thank You, Mrs P, for the correction) early!

Arrived safely in the Chateau. All settled in rooms and ready for the first evening's activity. Warm. Sunny. Bliss!

Tuesday 25th June 2019

Good morning!

The children (and staff!) slept well last night - they were well tired out by all the activities!

Today the children visited a farm (Feathers) - children saw a range of animals, did some craft activities ... and used the compost toilet!

This afternoon, children took part in a range of outdoor activities. The weather is absolutely GLORIOUS! 

Wednesday 26th June 2019

Another great night's sleep. The accommodation is good and children are eating well ("love the food!"). They have to choose their own meals and clear up after themselves. (Much harder for some than others!)

Morning activities today include climbing. And getting wet... again. Possibly a good thing as, though it is a little overcast, it is warming up!

This afternoon included a visit the bakery (home-made croissants!) and the chocolate factory, where the all the chocolate caused Miss Sired to have a 'melt-down'....

Thursday 27th June 2019

Another great night of sleep and, despite weather warnings, the temperature is lovely and the children are really enjoying themselves.

This morning included a visit to Abbeville market and then to the hypermarket. Children bought lots of lovely gifts - some parents are in for a treat! 

More physical activities in store this afternoon - the children are loving them and cannot wait!

Staff have really enjoyed spending this quality time with the children - they have been delightful!

Tonight was the "French taste experience" - snails and frogs legs! As you can see by the pictures, there were mixed feelings about this!

Last night tonight. Whilst the children are sad that this is the last night (they would like to stay longer... and so would we!), they are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Friday 28th June 2019

A very successful trip into Abbeville this morning and then packing up ready to come home.

Children are on the 3:30pm ferry and so should be back in the UK around 4pm.

The estimated time of arrival at Foxhills is currently 8pm.
