SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

Are you a Wild World Hero? Pack your bags, we’re headed for Wilderville!

It’s a pretty cool place, but there are lots of things that the Wild World Heroes can do to make their town even better for the people and animals that live there. Join the Wild World Heroes for the Summer Reading Challenge 2021 and discover how you can make a difference to the environment too.

We’re teaming up with WWF for a very special nature-themed Challenge that will inspire you to stand up for the planet! Wild World Heroes will feature amazing books, awesome rewards and plenty of ideas for taking care of our environment.

Are you excited to join the #WildWorldHeroes this summer?

How to get involved

In previous years, Foxhills Junior School children have topped the list of Summer Reading Challenge members at Totton Library and this year will be no different! Our fantastic colleagues at Totton Library are ready to welcome you back to a summer of reading fun. So, be a Wild World Hero and to find out more, sign up today:

Due to the current restrictions, they are encouraging children to sign up online on the above website in order to avoid the usual queues and to keep everyone safe. However, for those who wish or need to sign up in person you can also visit the library.

To show off your great work, you will get a downloadable certificate from the Wild World Heroes sent straight to your inbox for each book you finish. There are six different certificates, so you will need to complete the Challenge if you want to collect all of them. From Saturday 3rd July, when the Reading Challenge starts, you’ll be able to let them know when you’ve finished a book by updating your online reading record.

Once you’ve read your first book, you can also pick up a free Wild World Heroes collector’s card from the library. The card comes with great stickers that can be used to mark each stage of your reading challenge, and you will even get a medal for finishing!

Let us know how you get on over the summer and remember to bring your certificate and medal to school in September and we will celebrate your reading achievement!
